Golf Courses in the CSRA (that you can actually play)

Augusta, Georgia is famous for its Golf Clubs, home of the worlds most famous annual tournament held in April. Golf is a favorite sport and hobby in the CSRA. While the the old peach orchard isn’t exactly accessible to the public to play, there are quite a few beautiful courses in the area. Here is a list of some nearby courses to play year-round, weather permitting.

 

Forest Hills Golf Club

The Forest Hills Golf Club in Augusta has been played by notable golfers such as Bobby Jones and Phil Mickelson. It has been repeatedly named “Best Public Course” by Augusta Magazine thanks to its beauty and popularity around town. They offer tee times, annual memberships, and a bar & grill on site.

 

The River Golf Club

The River Golf Club is located in North Augusta, South Carolina along the Savannah River. It has a beautiful design and unique setting. Memberships are offered but players can find daily tee times as well.

 

Goshen Plantation Golf Club

One of the hidden gems of South Augusta, the Goshen Plantation Golf Club offers beautiful rounds of golf on a classic course. They also have an exceptional banquet facility that can be used for weddings, corporate events and more. There are multiple membership levels offered to players.

 

Gordon Lakes Golf Course

Located on Augusta’s Fort Gordon military base, Gordon Lakes is a unique 27-hole course open to the public and military. They offer a delicious bar and grill on site for a lunch break and multiple tee times or membership levels.

 

Bartram Trail Golf Club

Bartram Trail is one of the area’s newer courses and is located in Columbia County. It is named after William Bartram, known by many as the first American Naturalist. A quick look around this course and it will be obvious that he inspired the beautiful flora and nature conservation in the area.
