Front Door Decor

Gone are the days of a bland, neutral front door. Thanks to DIY websites and shows that focus on decor, homeowners are stepping up their door game. Having a fun front door not only helps you stand out from your neighbors, but also gives flexibility to play with different decorations through each season. If you are ready to play dress-up with your door, take a look at these ideas!

Choose your color.

Even if you are redecorating on a budget, the good news is that you won’t have to replace the full door if you are wanting a change. Any regular paint that can be used on your walls can also be used on a door. Choose a color that will make you happy every time you come home! Some people like a vibrant and bold color, while others tend to stick with neutrals. Go with whatever works for you and get to painting!

Decide on an aesthetic.

What is the overall feel of your home? You want your door to match that. If you have a modern or mid-century modern home, you may want to choose a paint color that is bold but basic. Is farmhouse style more your thing? You can’t go wrong with a classic white or ivory door. If you’re interested in replacing hardware such as knobs and knockers, be sure to choose pieces that match your style.

Doors need jewelry, too!

Wreaths are not just for the winter holiday season anymore. You can easily find a wreath for every day, buy from a local southern business, or make your own with tools from a craft store and help from the internet! Another great idea is to have a solid, neutral colored wreath and switch out the bow for it seasonally.

Signs are another great addition to your front door. You can go with a classic monogram, a fun phrase such as “Hey Y’all” or a seasonal quote. Wood signs that can hang from wreath hangers are extremely easy to find or make yourself.

A pretty, potted plant sitting by the door adds to the aesthetic as well. Succulents are on-trend and the easiest to care for, but if you have more of a green thumb, pick a plant that brings you joy and adds color to the door.

As you can see, changing up your front door can be extremely simple. Once you’ve settled on colors and accessories, admire your new creative work and take a celebratory picture in front!
