School is out and summer is in full swing! Take the extra time this season to
explore all of the fun things happening right here in Richmond County. Here is a list of
events coming up that you should plan to attend:
Augusta Market at the River
The Augusta Market is a popular recurring event through the warmer seasons. It runs on Saturday mornings beginning at 8:00am at 15 8th Street and admission is free; however, bring a little cash to support the local businesses showcased during the market. You can enjoy handmade arts and crafts as well as food from local businesses.
Augusta Pride Parade
Saturday, June 22, Augusta will host their 10th annual Pride Parade. Float and car entries are free but anyone can walk and join in. The festivities will begin at 10:30am and be sure to bring sunscreen.
2019 Kidney Walk
The CSRA Kidney Walk will take place on Saturday, June 29 beginning at 9:00am at the American Legion Post 63 on Milledge Road. The walk was created to benefit kidney patients, their families and those at risk. Donations can be made and more information can be found here.
Independence Day at Augusta Common
The City of Augusta is presenting their annual Independence Day Celebration on July 4th at the Augusta Common. Gates will open at 4:00pm and this family-friendly event will feature a wide variety of vendors including food, merchandise and crafts. A children’s zone will be available as well with inflatables and face painting. A large fireworks show will be on display after dark.
Hidden Figures Screening
On July 20, the Imperial Theatre will be hosting a screening of the award-winning 2016 film Hidden Figures at 1:00pm. Admission to the screening is free, but tickets are needed for entry and can be found here.
