CSRA Food Trucks
The concept of a food truck has taken off and increased in popularity over the past few years, especially during the pandemic when people may not feel safe sitting in restaurants just yet. Many restaurants have developed their own food trucks as well as small, independent businesses that visit various locations each week with their trucks. Here are a few around the CSRA to check out and even book for an upcoming event:
The Whipped Creamery in Grovetown, Georgia was formerly located in the Augusta Mall but moved into their own location off of Columbia Road in 2020. Their truck offers a wide selection of ice cream flavors and fun creations such as fresh cookie ice cream sandwiches. Visit here for more info and to contact them for booking.
Luna Pizza Co.
Located inside of Putt-Putt Mini Golf, Luna’s uses fresh quality ingredients for their pizzas and has become the talk of the town during food truck events. Get more info and contact them by visiting here.
Rita’s Italian Ice and Custard
Rita’s is also located inside of Putt-Putt but takes their truck all around the CSRA during the summer. They provide fresh Italian ice and creamy Old Fashioned Frozen Custard in a large variety of flavors. Contact and booking info is available here.
One of the area’s most popular Southwestern restaurants has had immense success with their food truck. Diablo’s uses fresh ingredients to create delicious dishes such as burritos, quesadillas and more. Click Here for contact and booking info as well as a list of their restaurant locations in the area.
Smokeshow Southern BBQ
Smokeshow is a standalone food truck and catering company. They have been cooking up authentic BBQ and family recipes since 2016 and are a great option for summer eats. Their Website has info on booking as well as a schedule of stops.
The El Rey Mexican restaurants have a collective food truck traveling around serving up taco cones, margarita mixes and more. For an authentic Mexican cuisine that you can enjoy right in your neighborhood or at home, visit their Facebook page for booking.
Another refreshing option for hot days at the pool is the Kona Ice truck. They create unique shaved ice combos with great flavor choices. Check out their Website for contact and booking info.
Before booking a food truck in your neighborhood, contact your HOA to make sure you have permission and see if there are any requirements such as permits or parking restrictions. Once you do have permission, create an event on social media to invite your neighbors and friends and get the word out!
