Swoon-Worthy Laundry Rooms

Just a few years ago, laundry rooms were an afterthought in the majority of homes. Their sole purpose has been holding the washer and dryer, and occasionally pet care items. Recently, however, laundry rooms have shifted to a focal point for interior designers and homeowners alike. A beautiful and functional laundry room is moving up the list of home organization dreams. For a photo-ready laundry room in your own home, try adding some of these ideas:

Pops of Color

A little bit of color can go a long way. Since your laundry room is most likely hidden from most of the home, you can have more fun experimenting with color without it overpowering the rest of the home. Try painting the cabinets a fun color to make daily chores a little more enjoyable.

Counter Space

If you’re lucky enough to have counters in your laundry room, utilize them. Install a countertop that you’ll enjoy looking at and create an efficient assembly line for folding clothes as they come out of the dryer.

Bold Tile

Fun tiles are probably the biggest trend in laundry rooms right now. In fact, they have been so popular that they are expanding to other rooms in homes as well. As far as the laundry rooms go, a bold black and white or navy and white pattern will spruce up the most bland of spaces.

Functional Walls

Lacking in floor space? Hang pull-out drying racks and ironing boards on the wall.

Wallpaper is another huge home trend that came back through the laundry room. Pick any pattern and color palette that best fits your taste and watch a small room come to life. This is another great way of making mundane laundry more enjoyable.

Accent Lighting

Who says you have to keep your standard light fixture? Switch it out with a chic pendant light for a small detail that will make a big difference.

By sprucing up your laundry room, you’ll stay on trend and bring some fun to an otherwise ordinary spot in your home. You may even enjoy sitting in there solely for the view! Don’t worry, we won’t tell anyone if you add an accent chair for your morning coffee.
