Summer is officially here and so are tons of fun, local events. Whether you’re staying in town for the summer or need a little something extra to do, Aiken County has something going on for everyone. Here is a list of upcoming events you can plan to attend:
Aiken County Farmers Market
The farmers market is a recurring event on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays throughout the year. It begins at 7:00am and ends at noon, or until the vendors sell out. It is located at 115 Williamsburg Street between Park Avenue and Richland Avenue. Expect to enjoy local food and crafts with each visit!
First Annual Music Day
Stroll along Park Avenue on Friday, June 21 from 6:00pm-8:30pm and enjoy musicians all throughout the street. This is a free event for the whole family to enjoy.
Fire Over Aiken
Head out to the Aiken Fairgrounds on Saturday, June 22 for the 6th annual Fire Over Aiken event. Gates open at 5:00 and the grounds will be complete with rides, food vendors, live music and more. Fireworks will begin around 9:15pm. Entry is free, but bring a few extra bucks for the vendors.
Independence Day Celebration at SRP Park
Spend the 4th of July this year at SRP Park with a Greenjackets game and fireworks. The game begins at 6:35pm and fireworks will follow. Tickets are available here.
July Yappy Hour
The SPCA Albrecht Center for Animal Welfare is hosting an event in their dog park complete with food, drinks and live music. It will take place on July 10 at 6:00pm and adoptable animals will be available for those looking for a new furry friend.
